Maths Cup
In September 2010, Sule College hosted one of the most interesting mathematics competitions held in NSW. It was named as Maths Cup. Teams of 165 year 6 students from different schools all around Sydney competed with each other to be the winner of the first ever Maths Cup. A number of 249 participants in 2011 meant Maths Cup was quickly becoming a tradition.
In the words of organisers Maths Cup promised to be an electrifying competition which would redefine how students experience Maths. It is designed to encourage a greater student interest in mathematics, to put the fun back into functions, to create a desire to solve challenging puzzles, and to foster a burgeoning joy within students for problem solving and teamwork.
Maths Cup is a competition of its own. It combines all elements of maths with fun and produces an exciting and challenging competition.
