:: STEPS IN ENROLMENT :: (to be updated yet) Application: In order to apply for a Place at Sule College it is necessary to complete an Application for Enrolment form available from the Admission\'s Office. This form should be lodged with the Registrar and include the appropriate fee $100, school reports and other documents as required. Applicants are placed on a waiting list according to date of receipt. It should be noted that placement on the waiting list does not guarantee a place in the College.
Entrance Exams: All the students on the waiting list are invited to sit an entrance exam in the beginning of term 3. Students who meet the minimum education outcomes of Sule College are then invited to the family interviews.
Interviews: The enrolment interview is a critical part of the enrolment process. One or both parents must attend the College with the child. Interviews are an invaluable opportunity for Sule College to find out about the family and the child and discuss their suitability to the school culture. It is an important opportunity to learn about the school ethos and management, and an opportunity for parents to discuss about any special abilities or needs of the child.
Offer of Enrolment: Applicants who have successfully passed the entrance exam and the interview stage will be given an Enrolment Offer for a place at Sule College. All offers will be made in writing by the Principal and will be accompanied by a contract of conditions to be signed by both parents and returned to the Admissions Office. The Letter of Offer will be valid for 4 weeks, in which a response must be received before the offer is withdrawn and offered to the next child on the waitlist. In a small number of cases Provisional Offers may be made, specifying certain applicable conditions.
Factors determining offers of places include: the student\'s ability to benefit from Sule College\'s program (entrance exam and interviews), date of application, siblings and staff children will be given preferential treatment (where possible).
Acceptance: In order to secure a place, parents will be asked to pay a Non-refundable enrolment fee of $200 (per child) and a $500 (per child) security deposit (refundable when the child leaves the school).
Orientation Day: Orientation days are arranged for children enroling for kindergarten in December. All new students from Kindergarten to year 12 will have Orientation Day one day before the rest of the College starting, in January. Orientation days are designed to help familiarise children and parent with the school facilities and review the student hand book to learn about the school rules and administration requirements. The students will also be addressed and welcomed by the Principal, School Psychologist and various College Coordinators. |
